Release notes for an accordion-powered dashboard

A fake product update that demonstrates headings, lists, images, quotes, tables, and a little configuration code.

Release notesDashboardPlaceholder

This imaginary release adds three features that were requested by exactly no one, but they look useful in a blog demo.

A placeholder dashboard screenshot

Highlights

  • The dashboard now remembers which accordion was last open.
  • Empty charts gently imply that data might arrive one day.
  • The export button exports a file named probably-final-v7.csv.

The best product updates are the ones that sound specific enough to be real and vague enough to be harmless.

Configuration

type AccordionMood = "calm" | "dramatic" | "needlessly-confident";

const release = {
  version: "4.2.0-placeholder",
  defaultMood: "needlessly-confident" satisfies AccordionMood,
  enableChartWhispers: true,
};

The rollout plan is to ship it on Tuesday, observe nothing, and write a retrospective with three bullet points.
